Jamisen A. Etzel
Jamisen was raised in Edinboro, Pennsylvania. In 2011, Jamisen graduated from New York University School of Law, where he served as Managing Editor of the NYU Journal of Legislation and Public Policy and completed an internship with the Honorable William H. Walls, United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. After graduation from NYU, Jamisen returned to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he previously earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, having graduated in 2008, magna cum laude, from Duquesne University and receiving the Harold Webb, Jr. Award for Excellence in Political Science.
As a young attorney, Jamisen already has established himself as a vigorous advocate for the disenfranchised in our society. While attending NYU, Jamisen assisted low-income individuals with immigration matters and taught legal research skills to state prisoners. He also argued before the New York Appellate Division as a participant in NYU’s Criminal Appellate Defender Clinic. Coupled with his keen intellect and superior legal training, Jamisen’s experience as a civil rights advocate makes him a perfect fit with Carlson Lynch, where, since joining the firm in 2012, he has worked with all of the firm’s practice groups.
In Jamisen’s words: “I am devoted to representing individuals who have been victimized in our society, whether by fraud, discrimination, or other corporate malfeasance. Without a knowledgeable and enthusiastic advocate, injured individuals who must rely on our legal system will never obtain justice for the abuses they have suffered.”
